    Registration and Account Management

    The process is simple and intuitive. After a quick initial registration on the platform, you will receive a confirmation email. Upon your first login, you can choose your primary role: "Sailor" (service provider or boat owner) or "Be Sailor" (service user). Both roles will have access to a dedicated dashboard to manage their Be Sailor experience.

    Your dashboard is your complete control center. From here you can manage:

    • Monetization and Invoicing: Monitor your earnings and access financial documentation.
    • Boats: Create and manage your boat profiles, including name, model, year, length, type (sailboat, motorboat, catamaran), capacity, engine specifications, and upload high-quality photos.
    • Services: Create new service offerings, including title, detailed description, pricing (hourly, daily, weekly), and upload promotional photos. You can offer specific services connected to your boat (e.g., sailing lessons, excursions), or even services not directly linked to a boat (e.g., scuba diving lessons, theoretical courses).
    • Availability and Calendar: Manage your availability, blocking specific dates.
    • Extras: Add extra services or options to your offerings to make experiences unique.
    • Profile: Keep your personal information and preferences updated.

    Yes. Given the requirement for commercial licenses and specific certifications for offering services, all "Sailors" on the Be Sailor platform are considered professional service providers. This ensures a high standard of quality, safety, and compliance for all experiences offered.

    Documents and Service Approval

    To ensure safety and legal compliance, essential basic documents will be requested:

    • Valid ID (passport or driving license).
    • Boat insurance certificate.
    • Boat registration booklet/document. Subsequently, the platform will request the upload of any other specific documents required based on the country in which you intend to operate (e.g., Commercial Certificate, specific Skipper's License for charter/rental, VHF radio licenses etc.). These requirements will vary from country to country.

    It is crucial that your insurance policy specifically covers commercial activities, passenger transport, and the specific services you offer (e.g., sailing lessons, excursions, scuba diving). For boat owners, a comprehensive Third-Party Liability (RC) insurance covering commercial use is typically mandatory. If you offer specialized services like scuba diving, you must ensure you have the appropriate professional liability insurance for that activity.


    Important: You will need to accept all Terms and Conditions and confirm your full responsibility for the validity, accuracy, and compliance of all licenses, certificates, qualifications, and permits required by law for the operation and provision of services offered through Be Sailor.

    Once you have completed the following steps:

    • Sailor Profile Setup: This is your first step after choosing your "Sailor" role. Here, you'll complete your personal profile by uploading a profile photo and providing essential personal information. This section also includes the initial upload of your valid ID or passport for verification.
    • Boat Profile Setup: Click "Add New Boat." Enter all details (name, model, year, length, type, capacity, etc.) and upload high-quality photos. The boat profile is saved as a draft. Navigate to the "Documents" section. Accept all Terms and Conditions and upload all required documents. Documents will be stored securely and marked as "Verified" upon our approval.
    • Service Listing Creation: Click "Create New Service." Enter title, description, pricing, and availability, also uploading promotional photos, extras, etc. In case the service is provided with a listed boat, you can connect your boat at the service you are listing. The service listing is saved as a draft.
    • Publish Listing: Click "Publish Listing." A pop-up prompt will ask if you have uploaded all necessary documents for operating in the chosen country. If you answer "Yes," the listing will be submitted to our team for review and approval. If you answer "No," you will be redirected to the "Documents" section. Your service will only be made public and visible to users after approval by our admin team.

    Booking Management and Availability

    From your dashboard, you will have access to an intuitive calendar to manage available dates. You can block specific days or periods (e.g., for maintenance, personal use, or other external bookings) when the boat or service is unavailable. This saves you from having to cancel and recreate the listing. You also have the option to put a service "in draft" or temporarily suspend it and then republish it when you wish, for instance, during maintenance work.

    When a "Be Sailor" selects a service and proceeds to checkout, the booking is immediately confirmed upon payment. An email notification is then sent simultaneously to both the "Be Sailor" (as confirmation of their booking) and to you, the "Sailor" (as a new order notification). You, as the "Sailor," have up to 48-hours from the moment of notification to confirm the received order. This timeframe allows you sufficient time to review the request and ensure your availability. If the order is not confirmed within these 48 hours, it will automatically be cancelled, and the "Be Sailor" will be fully refunded. Please note that repeated unconfirmed orders or cancellations on your part may negatively impact your visibility on the platform. We encourage prompt responses to ensure a smooth experience for all users.

    If you need to modify or cancel a booking, you can do so directly from your dashboard by following the guided procedure. We invite you to carefully consult our cancellation policy for "Sailors", which details any applicable conditions or penalties based on the notice period and the policy you have set for your service.

    Commissions and Earnings

    Be Sailor adopts a partnership model: we take a small commission only on successful bookings. This means: No bookings? No fees. It's that simple. In return for the commission, Be Sailor offers you:

    • A continuous flow of clients: We attract a global and targeted audience for you.
    • Administrative management: We handle the booking's bureaucratic aspects.
    • Constant support: A team dedicated to your success.
    • Investment in your business: The commission allows us to continuously invest in the platform, improving features, visibility, and tools to help you grow.

    Yes, Be Sailor is pleased to offer commission-free periods to incentivize your initial activity and reward your proactivity:

    • 6 Months Commission-Free for Basic Engagement: For "Sailors" who complete their profile and list at least one service.
    • 9 Months Commission-Free for Service Diversity: For "Sailors" who add at least three distinct services (e.g., lessons, excursions, onboard activities) within the first three months of registration.
    • 12 Months Commission-Free for High Activity: For "Sailors" who secure at least 10 bookings within their first six months on the platform.

    Payments for your bookings, net of our commission, are credited directly to your account. Like many similar platforms, the credit generally occurs after the service is successfully completed, ensuring transaction security for both parties. Exact credit times may vary depending on the payment method and banks involved, but we are committed to processing payments quickly and efficiently (e.g., within 24-48 hours of service completion).

    Yes. As a professional service provider, you are responsible for understanding and complying with all local tax regulations related to the income generated through Be Sailor. We strongly advise all "Sailors" to consult with a local tax advisor or accountant to ensure proper declaration of earnings and compliance with applicable tax laws in your country of operation. Be Sailor does not provide tax advice.

    Accidents, Damages, and Disputes

    Be Sailor does not directly handle security deposits. If a service requires a security deposit, the arrangement and management of this deposit will be directly between the "Sailor" and the "Be Sailor." We advise both parties to clearly define the terms of any security deposit prior to the service.

    In the unfortunate event of an accident, damage, or dispute during a service, both "Sailors" and "Be Sailors" should immediately report the incident to Be Sailor support. Our team will guide you through the necessary steps, which typically include:

    • Immediate Notification: Inform Be Sailor support as soon as possible.
    • Documentation: Provide clear photos, videos, and detailed descriptions of any damage or incident.
    • Mediation: Be Sailor will act as a neutral mediator to help resolve disputes between parties, aiming for a fair and amicable solution based on our Terms and Conditions.
    • Insurance Claims: We will assist in facilitating the necessary information for any insurance claims, but the ultimate responsibility for claims and coverage lies with the "Sailor's" insurance provider. Our goal is to ensure a fair and transparent resolution process for all parties involved.
