Underwater Navigator (SSI)

Overview
This program provides the skills and concepts required to safely and comfortably navigate underwater during a dive.

Program scope
As described by the Sailor, participants learn:

• How to use a compass and natural navigation techniques

• How to estimate distance

• Basic navigation patterns

• How to leave and return to a designated point

Structure
This program consists of 2 dives.

Certification outcome
Upon completion, participants earn the SSI Navigation Specialty certification.
