Search and Recovery (SSI)

Overview
This program provides the skills and concepts required to safely plan and conduct search and recovery dives.

Program scope
As described by the Sailor, the program covers:

• Search patterns

• Specialized dive plans

• Underwater communication

• Recovering small to medium-sized objects using specialized equipment such as lift bags

Structure
Skills and concepts are practiced over 2 dives.

Certification outcome
Upon completion, participants earn the SSI Search and Recovery Specialty certification.
