Coral Identification (SSI)

Overview
This specialty program introduces the key concepts required to identify coral species and understand their role within marine ecosystems.

Program scope
As described by the Sailor, the course focuses on:

• Coral anatomy and structure

• Identification of common coral species

• The role of corals within reef ecosystems

Structure

• No in-water sessions are required to complete the program, however if you’d like to compliment this course with fun dives let us know!

• Optional dives can be requested separately to complement the theory

Certification outcome
Upon completion, participants earn the SSI Coral Identification Specialty certification.
